Little does Iron Man know that Living Laser has been recruited by the Mandarin, along with Enchantress, Executioner,  Swordsman and Power Man. With the full Avengers membership assembled, the heroes begin their search for Living Laser before he is able to take his revenge. Just as they are about to depart, the Avengers are contacted by Nick Fury, who warns that there are attacks underway in Asia, Africa and South America. With that new information, the Avengers are off. The Avengers manage to defeat all of the various plots supported by the Mandarin and his assembled villains, but the Mandarin himself seemed to be out of reach until Cap and Quicksilver discover transmissions beaming out into space. With that, the duo rush to a government space craft and head into orbit to confront the Mandarin. As the rest of the team arrive to reinforce their teammates, the Mandarin uses his latest invention to turn the heroes against one another. Unfortunately for him, his weapon also causes Wasp to attack him and the in the resulting chaos, Mandarin is sucked out into space. Although they now have control of his advanced space station, the Avengers realize that they can’t allow it to continue to exist. As the station explodes behind them, the Avengers decide that they should assemble their full membership more frequently.

Plot Summary

Following a bizarre bank robbery where the criminal cut his way out of the building and left behind his ill-gotten gains, the Avengers are called to consult. At the bank, Wasp runs into an old friend and while the two are talking a mysterious man observes the pair and immediately falls for Wasp. The man in question turns out to be Arthur Parks, the Living Laser and the criminal in question. Returning home and donning his costume, the Living Laser attacks a recently reunited Goliath and Bill Foster in order to defeat Goliath and prove his power to Wasp. Although he is eventually defeated by Goliath, the Living Laser escapes while being escorted to the authorities by Captain America and Hawkeye. The Living Laser then unleashes an improved version of his lasers on the city of New York, sowing terror throughout. In an effort to find him, Captain America, Hawkeye and Wasp enter a building that Living Laser is supposed to be in. Unfortunately the trio walk into a trap, Cap and Hawkeye being trapped in a laser cage and Wasp being captured. As the Living Laser departs with his paramour, he sets the cage to slowly collapse, sentencing the enclosed heroes to death.
