Plot Summary

On a rainy night, a mysterious figure makes his way towards the home of the Avenger known as Wasp. Just after the departure of Goliath, Wasp is contemplating their relationship when this mysterious stranger makes his way into her apartment, pursuing Wasp, even passing though walls to do so. Just as he is about to attack, the stranger suffers an attack of unknown origin, which allows enough time for Goliath to return. The pair then take the unconscious intruder back to Avengers Mansion for further study. With their teammates assembled, the Avengers discover that the intruder is a synthazoid, an artificial human. During the analysis, the unnamed stranger walks up and again attacks the Avengers, but once again suffers a similar affliction. While recovering, the stranger begins to reveal that he was sent by Avengers foe, Ultron 5. With this information and the new name of Vision, the synthazoid agrees to escort the Avengers to Ultron’s lair. Little do they know that this is all part of Ultron’s plan and the Avengers soon find themselves split up and under attack. When Vision decides to confront his creator, Ultron shows him only contempt, but is unable to defeat his creation and is instead destroyed in the process.

Plot Summary

The Avengers arrive at what appears to be an abandoned castle, answering a summons by their former teammate, Captain America. Little do the Avengers realize that this is in fact Castle Doom. Cap has brought them here so that they may use Doom’s time machine and travel back to the day Bucky died in order to prove once and for all that Bucky is really dead. The team leaves Wasp behind to man the controls and ensure they remain undetectable by those in the past. While in the past, the Avengers witness Cap and Bucky face off against Baron Zemo and his automatons. Everything goes as it had before until, back in the present, Wasp falls asleep. Without her constant input to the controls, the Avengers become visible and are forced to step in and fight Zemo and his creatures. In spite of their interference, the time line continues on just as it previously had and as Captain America and the other Avengers disappear back to their time, Cap once again watches those fateful events, proving with certainty that Bucky is in fact dead.
