Plot Summary

As the Avengers test out their latest security measures, their butler Jarvis makes a suspicious phone call. When the team wraps up, Jarvis leaves the mansion, though he is obliged to walk part of the way to his destination with Wasp, as she goes out for a walk. Instead of heading uptown to see his sick mother, Jarvis heads downtown to an abandoned set of tenements where he makes his way into the secret base of the newly reformed Masters of Evil. Original members Melter and Radioactive Man are joined by the new Black Knight as well as Whirlwind and Klaw. More importantly, the team of supervillains is lead by the mysterious Crimson Cowl. Jarvis then proceeds to betray his employers by giving the Masters the blueprints to the new security systems the Avengers have just installed. However, the faithless butler is double crossed and knocked out by Crimson Cowl. With this the Masters make their way to Avengers Mansion though they too are double crossed by the Black Knight. Unfortunately for Black Knight, Crimson Cowl had foreseen this outcome and the rest of the Masters are waiting to ambush him on the roof of Avengers Mansion. With the element of surprise lost, the Masters of Evil waste no time in attacking the Avengers in force and in short order they have managed to capture all four of them. When the Masters of Evil report back to Crimson Cowl, a second Cowl reveals the first to be a decoy robot. The real Crimson Cowl then proceeds to reveal himself as none other than the Avengers’ butler, Jarvis.
