The man in question turns out to be Arthur Parks, the Living Laser and the criminal in question. Returning home and donning his costume, the Living Laser attacks a recently reunited Goliath and Bill Foster in order to defeat Goliath and prove his power to Wasp. The Living Laser then unleashes an improved version of his lasers on the city of New York, sowing terror throughout. In an effort to find him, Captain America, Hawkeye and Wasp enter a building that Living Laser is supposed to be in. Unfortunately the trio walk into a trap, Cap and Hawkeye being trapped in a laser cage and Wasp being captured. As the Living Laser departs with his paramour, he sets the cage to slowly collapse, sentencing the enclosed heroes to death.
