Plot Summary

Tempers run high as the Avengers return to their mansion in order to regroup and recruit Hercules’ aid in rescuing Goliath and Wasp from the clutches of Diablo and Dragon Man. Eventually, and with the aid of the Fantastic Four, the Avengers make their way to Diablo’s castle in Transylvania. Within the castle, Diablo forces Goliath to help him bring an entire army of Dragon Men to life. When Goliath initially refuses, Diablo threatens to have Dragon Man kill Wasp. As the Avengers arrive, Hercules parts ways with the team and heads underground to faceoff with Dragon Man. When the rest of the team break into the castle, they are confronted by their own teammate, Goliath. While Hercules battles with Dragon Man, the scene cuts to Black Widow suffering the effects of the Pyschotron, making a desperate, yet ultimately futile escape attempt. Eventually the Avengers are able communicate to Goliath that Hercules is saving Wasp, and the entire team turns against Diablo. Unfortunately, the villain is prepared and erects a barrier between himself and the Avengers. Only the timely arrival of Captain America prevents Diablo from destroying the entire castle. With Dragon Man and Diablo defeated, Diablo is taken into custody by the Avengers, and the castle is destroyed. As the Avengers gather after the mission, Hawkeye makes a determined statement that he is going to save Black Widow, or die trying.

Plot Summary

As the Avengers take some time for training, tensions build between the Avengers and their long term house guest, Hercules. Behind the Bamboo Curtain, Black Widow arrives to deliver her stolen plans only to be thrown into the dreaded Psychotron. Back in New York, Goliath oversees the delivery of the infamous android, Dragon Man. Unbeknownst to the Avengers though, Dragon Man’s previous master, Diablo is lurking outside in order to reclaim his former henchman. Having created a distraction by turning a building to pure gold, Diablo is able to break into Goliath’s lab and reactivate Dragon Man. Although Goliath figured out Diablo’s plan, he arrives too late to stop events and is forced to confront the power android. Unfortunately, even Goliath’s mighty strength proves insufficient and he and Wasp are taken captive by Dragon Man, just as the rest of the Avengers arrive on scene, too late to save their teammates.
